VARIOUS OF CIVIL DEFENCE MEMBERS COLLECTING BODY PARTS FROM GROUND / DESTROYED TENTS AND DAMAGED CAR WITH BLOODSTAINS GAZA, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 1, 2025: The Government Media Office in Gaza announced on Wednesday that a number of Palestinians were injured in the Israeli army’s shelling of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, putting the lives of more than 70 journalists and media personnel at risk. The office stated that “the Israeli occupation has shelled inside the walls of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital for the 15th consecutive time, continuing its systematic crimes against Gaza’s health system.” It added that "the shelling targeted displaced people who had come to receive treatment near the internal medicine department, resulting in serious injuries (number not specified) and severe material damage, as well as a direct threat to the lives of dozens of patients." The statement further emphasized that the attack "put the lives of more than 70 journalists and media personnel at risk, as it occurred just a few meters from the locations from which they were covering the events and developments of the genocide." At least 250 journalists and media workers have been killed in the Gaza since the start of the Israeli genocide on Oct. 7, 2023, according to different media watchdogs. Israel has killed over 66,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave uninhabitable and led to a famine.
