A black bear was caught on camera snatching a parcel from a front porch in Washington.

CCTV footage shows the animal clamping its jaws around a package before carrying it away into the woods oin Ocean Shores.

The box wrapped in plastic contained a sweater, which the bear took with it as it vanished among the trees on September 29.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife reminded residents that bears are often attracted to high-calorie food, and repeated encounters could encourage them to return.

The agency said: ‘Friendly reminder that if you order DoorDash, Uber Eats or other food delivery services, please be sure to pick it up right away. Porch pirates come in all forms, including furry and four-legged.'
