Storyline: China's camping boom drives growth of outdoor equipment rental [Voice_over] As more Chinese urbanites seek weekend respites in the out of doors, a burgeoning equipment rental market is capitalizing on demand for affordable and flexible camping experiences. At a campsite in north China's Hebei Province, visitors can rent chairs and canopies and even purchase food to prepare and enjoy in the early autumn weather. [Sound_bite] Zhu Dongdong, campsite manager: "We offer two types of packages: one includes basic camping equipment for around 7 U.S. dollars per person, and the other offers meals and fruit platters, bringing it to about 20 U.S. dollars per person." [Voice_over] At another campground in the region, BBQ options have become very popular. At this site, tourists can rent a full grill set, including charcoal and seasonings, all for about 14 U.S. dollars. [Sound_bite] Liu Xin, Tourist: "It's about 14 U.S. dollars for a full set, including charcoal and seasonings. It's very convenient. We don't need to carry loads of equipment. It feels great." [Voice_over] According to German data provider Statista, China's camping market is expected to make about 12 billion U.S. dollars in revenue by the end of the year.
