Life in Bogo City in the central Philippines, which was hit by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday, is gradually returning to normal, after the devastating disaster claimed 68 lives and affected more than 360,000 people in the Southeast Asian archipelago country. With power supply restored in some areas, the city is getting back on track. Many storefronts with undamaged building structures, such as restaurants and shops, have reopened. Meanwhile, the arrival of relief supplies has made the traffic busy again throughout the city. The quake, which occurred at 21:59 local time Tuesday, struck at a depth of 10 km, approximately 17 km northeast of Bogo City, Cebu province, with tremors felt across multiple central provinces and parts of the southern region. The Philippine government announced on Thursday the official termination of search, rescue, and retrieval operations in the areas hardest hit by the powerful earthquake.
