The number of cross-border passenger trips handled by the China-Laos Railway saw a sharp increase during the first three days of China's ongoing eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with passenger flow increasing by more than 30 percent compared to normal days. Since the start of the holiday, the Mohan Railway port on the China-Laos border has been crowded with people, many of whom are going through procedures for a cross-border trip. According to statistics from the Mohan entry-exit frontier inspection station, the Mohan Railway port handled over 3,400 inbound and outbound passenger trips during the first three days of the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 15.23 percent. According to the border inspection department, the China-Laos Railway has handled more than 200,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips this year as of Friday.
