Those who practice buying and selling feel safe about their possessions and their goods. This will continue, God willing — these operations will increase, Allah willing. Right now the deployment is only at the main intersections, and very soon — Allah willing — it will cover all areas, once this occupation has completely ended.” 11. VARIOUS OF SECURITY OFFICERS STANDING GUARD GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 11: The Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza continued the deployment of its security forces for a second day on Saturday, moving into areas recently vacated by the Israeli army following a ceasefire that came into effect on Friday. Anadolu correspondents on the ground reported that the forces began deploying on Friday at main intersections and popular markets in various parts of the coastal enclave. A member of the security apparatus, who spoke to Anadolu on condition of anonymity on Saturday, said the deployment was aimed at restoring a sense of security. "Now, on this blessed day — the second day of the ceasefire — the security forces of the Ministry of Interior are being deployed throughout all areas of Gaza that are not under occupation," the source said. He added that the move was intended to deter criminal activity and that the ministry "will continue its work and will impose this control until security is established and the occupation is completely dispelled." The presence of security forces, he noted, was already making people feel safer and allowing them to return to their normal lives. "Security is beginning to return… Many citizens now feel secure. Those who practice buying and selling feel safe about their possessions," the source stated, adding that the deployment campaigns are expected to expand. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians embarked on journeys back to their homes in areas vacated by Israeli forces. The moves follow a ceasefire agreement, the first phase of which came into force at 12 noon local time (0900 GMT) on Friday. The deal, announced Wednesday, envisions a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the entire Gaza Strip. A proposed second phase of the plan calls for establishing a new governing mechanism in Gaza without Hamas's participation and the formation of a new security force. The conflict, which began in October 2023, has resulted in the deaths of nearly 67,200 Palestinians in the enclave, most of them women and children, and has left the territory largely uninhabitable.
