This is the shocking moment scaffolding collapsed onto a car during a storm in Taiwan.

CCTV footage shows the huge structure crashing onto the passing white sedan and several parked vehicles on the roadside amid powerful gusts from Typhoon Fengshen in Taichung.

The moving car can be seen slowing down just as the scaffolding struck it on October 22.

Other vehicles behind managed to stop in time, avoiding being crushed, near 182 Wuquan Road.

Police were quickly dispatched to the scene to set up road barriers and assist in removing the vehicle trapped beneath the fallen structure.

The 7th Brigade and the China-Hong Kong Detachment, under its jurisdiction, deployed six fire engines, two ambulances, and a total of 16 firefighters to assist in the operation.

Local media reported that two cars and two motorcycles parked on the roadside were damaged.

Officials said a 27-year-old motorcyclist sustained abrasions and briefly lost consciousness. He was taken to China Medical University Hospital for treatment and is now recovering.

Tropical Storm Fengshen moved westwards through the Philippines, killing at least seven people, leaving two missing and one injured as it swept across the northern and central regions of the country on October 19.

It then emerged into the South China Sea, weakening slightly as it tracked towards southern China and Vietnam. The storm continues to bring heavy rainfall, flooding, and coastal impacts in the coming days, including in parts of Taiwan.
