Scooter Rider Narrowly Escapes After Jumping Red Light and Crashing in Bengaluru

A Bengaluru rider had a near escape after jumping a red light on an unregistered Aprilia scooter and narrowly avoiding a collision with a BMTC electric bus.
The scooter then lost control and crashed into a parked DC car before the rider fled the scene.
The incident highlights the growing recklessness among two-wheeler riders in the city, which records nearly 30,000 traffic violations daily.
Missing number plates, as seen on the scooter, invite a ₹5,000 fine under Indian law.
Bengaluru registered 6,580 such offences in the first half of 2025, with authorities linking these violations to the city’s rising road accidents and 788 fatalities reported in 2024.
