Miracle Escape: Woman Unharmed as Stolen Car Ploughs into Birmingham Home
A MANHUNT has been launched for the driver of a suspected stolen Land Rover who crashed at speed through a fence, bouncing off trees and landing inside a woman's porch as she was inside the property.
Fortunately West Midlands Ambulance Service assessed the woman and she was discharged at the scene.
Occupants of the vehicle were seen running from the crash, leaving a trail of destruction on Thursday 6th November and police have appealed for anyone who saw them or know who they are to get in touch.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police Said: 'We were called to Bader Walk, Castle Vale, shortly after 7.15pm last night (Thurs) after a car crashed into the front of a house.
'No-one in the property was hurt. Occupants of the vehicle were seen running from the scene.
'The car is believed to be stolen and anyone with any information is being urged to ring us on 101 quoting log number 4886 of 6 November. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.'
West Midlands Fire Service Technical Rescue team worked tirelessly to remove the vehicle without further damaging the property in the Castle Vale area of Birmingham.
The vehicle was totally written off as a wheel was ripped out and most panels of the body were damaged.
West Midlands Police, Ambulance and Fire Service were all in attendance.
A spokesman for WMAS also said: 'We were called to reports of a car that had crashed into a house on Bader Walk at 7.19pm, one ambulance attended the scene.
'On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, from the house. Following assessment she was able to be discharged at the scene.'
Chester Road has a speed limit of 30mph, however even whilst emergency services dealt with this incident, more drivers raced past at higher speeds.
