US: Homicide Suspect Throws Gun During Dramatic Police Chase In Atlanta
Atlanta, United States - November 11, 2025 On October 28th, 2025, officers from the Auto Crimes Enforcement (ACE) Unit located a homicide suspect driving near Pickfair Way SW and Ashwood Avenue NW. Using their patrol cars, officers boxed in the suspect’s vehicle to stop him. The suspect rammed the police cars in a desperate attempt to break free, then jumped out of his vehicle holding a handgun modified to fire automatically. As he ran, the suspect hurled the weapon into a nearby wooded area before being tackled and captured by officers moments later. He was identified as 37-year-old Keith Hawkins, wanted in connection with a homicide that took place at 700 Eloise Street SE on April 9th, 2025. Hawkins now faces multiple charges including Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 Counts), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Machine Gun, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers, and Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail for processing. All arrests and photos are public information. An arrest does not indicate guilt, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
