A ceiling in a shopping mall in China collapsed just three days after its opening, leaving at least eight customers injured.

The plasterboard panels fell from above an escalator on the third floor of the Longhu Changle Tianjie Mall in Xincheng District, Shaanxi Province on November 17.

Footage shows debris scattered across the floor as mallgoers carefully inspect the area following the collapse at around 11:16 am local time.

One victim was seen lying on the ground, while another was carried away on a stretcher.

The injured were quickly taken to the hospital, including three people with fractures, four with minor wounds, and one with a foot injury.

An investigation is ongoing.
