Desperate to cross the flash flood current
Three teenagers bravely crossed the murky currents of a flash flood at the Gunung Nago Bridge in Padang City, West Sumatra, on November 30, 2025. They crossed because there was no other way to reach their homes on the other side. The flash flood, which had been occurring for the past five days, damaged dozens of homes and severed the bridge at this location. In total, 129 people have died as of today, and thousands have been displaced by the disaster in West Sumatra.
