Storyline: Financial institutions upbeat about China's economic future [Voice_over] According to recently released strategy reports from both domestic and international financial institutions, analysts remain upbeat about China’s economic growth in 2026. An analyst at Everbright, one of China’s largest securities brokerage firms by assets, said policy support and structural upgrades are poised to help realize economic potential. [Sound_bite] Zhao Gege, chief macro analyst, Everbright Securities: "With the synergy of a super-large market and a robust industrial system, there is still significant economic growth potential and room for quality upgrades in our country, and the toolbox for macroeconomic policy is well-stocked." [Voice_over] Foreign institutions like Morgan Stanley and UBS are also forecasting a steady economic trajectory for China next year. Morgan Stanley projects that moderate easing measures, gradual rebalancing, and well controlled anti-involution strategies will contribute to modest growth in 2026. And Swiss multinational investment bank UBS is counting on additional domestic policy support to reinforce overall economic resilience. [Sound_bite] Philip Wyatt, APAC economist, UBS Global Wealth Management Chief Investment Office: "For companies to, for example, take advantage of cheaper energy, it could be subsidies for the consumer, could be subsidies for first-time house mortgage buyers. These are all what I would say put in the category of targeted policy moves." [Voice_over] A recent report from Goldman Sachs predicts that China’s real export growth will grow by 5 to 6 percent annually for the next few years, significantly higher than previous forecasts.
