VARIOUS OF PEOPLE COUNTING VOTES CAIRO, EGYPT - DEC. 11, 2025: Voting in 30 Egyptian constituencies, where earlier results were annulled due to procedural irregularities, concluded on Thursday, Dec. 11, as part of the country’s ongoing elections for the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of parliament.

According to information obtained by Anadolu, ballot counting began immediately after the polls closed. Final results are expected to be announced on Dec. 18.

The re-run follows a ruling by Egypt’s High Administrative Court, which invalidated results in the 30 districts at the end of November. The court cited irregularities in the counting and numerical evaluation of votes, prompting the National Election Authority to order a repeat of the electoral process in those constituencies.

The first round of the House of Representatives elections was held on Nov. 10–11 across 14 governorates, while the second round took place in 13 of Egypt’s 27 governorates between Nov. 24 and 26.

Egypt, a country of approximately 108 million people, has nearly 69 million eligible voters. The House of Representatives consists of 568 elected members, with up to 5% appointed by the president. The Senate, the upper chamber of parliament, has 300 members, one-third appointed by the president and two-thirds elected. Elections for the Senate were held in August.
