Birmingham Murder: Man Stabbed to Death on Swanage Road, Small Heath - Suspect Arrested
A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a fatal stabbing on Swanage Road in Small Heath, Birmingham.
Police were called to the scene on Saturday night where a man was found with fatal stab wounds in the rear garden of a property.
West Midlands Police and forensics at the scene of a murder where a man was found fatally injured with stab wounds in a rear garden on Swanage Road in the Small Heath area of Birmingham on Saturday 20 Dec. night.
A forensics officer photographed the street, house and inner porch of the property.
Distasteful footage posted on social media (not included in this footage) showed armed police and ambulance workers performing CPR on a person in the back garden of the property.
On Sunday morning a blue and white forensic tent could be seen in the garden of the home as police search teams combed the street looking for evidence.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
West Midlands Police said in a statement: 'A murder investigation is underway after we were called to reports of a stabbing at an address on Swanage Road, shortly after 6.40pm last night (20 Dec).
‘Tragically, nothing could be done to save the man and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
‘A man aged, 28, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
‘We are in the early stages of our investigation, and a scene remains in place while we carry out urgent enquiries in the area to establish exactly what happened.
‘We would urge anyone with any information to call 101, quoting incident number 3826 of 20 December, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.’
