This is the heartwarming moment an Irishman invited his mother and uncle to join the Christmas celebrations with his Filipino girlfriend's family.

Joe and his fiancee Andrea Dani brought their families together for the festive occasion in South Cotabato, the Philippines.

Footage shows Joe's mother Amantha dressed in red, singing and dancing alongside Andrea's mother. His uncle, Emmet, also joined in, performing a lively karaoke song before dancing with local men.

Moments later, Andrea's parents can be seen singing, with Amantha happily watching the performance.

The festivities continued well into the evening, with everyone enjoying music, dancing, and drinks in high spirits.

The delighted Filipino family welcomed the foreign holidaymakers with a banner and treated them to a feast, including a whole roasted pig and other traditional Filipino dishes.

Andrea said: 'My partner, his mother, and his uncle, all from Donegal, made the 17-hour journey, covering 6,900 miles (11,100 km), to be here.

'Since Joe currently lives in Australia, it was his first time seeing his family in a year. It was a wonderful experience for them and for us, two families from different parts of the world, with so much in common, getting along so well.'

The couple have been in a long-distance relationship for two years, having first met in Bali in 2022 through mutual friends.
