The incident involved a semi-truck, a box truck, and a Toyota Camry. Traffic reports indicate that the collision, which occurred around 3:00 a.m., blocked multiple lanes of the freeway. Emergency responders were dispatched shortly after the incident, and law enforcement requested that several towing companies respond because the vehicles were stuck in traffic. A lane was eventually opened for emergency access. At approximately 3:40 a.m., authorities began diverting traffic off the northbound 5 Freeway at Valencia Boulevard, while crews worked on clearing the scene. The California Highway Patrol advised that the closure would likely remain in effect for at least three hours due to the extent of the incident.
