Los Angeles, United States - June 28, 2025 06/28/2025 02:20 am GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Pomona police, California Highway Patrol, and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 71 Freeway, just south of Mission Boulevard. The initial crash occurred when a vehicle struck the center divider on the southbound lanes of the freeway, causing the divider to be pushed into the northbound lanes. This obstruction led to multiple cars in the northbound lanes colliding with the center divider. A second crash was captured on camera, showing a green Toyota pickup swerving to avoid the center divider but losing control and crashing. The pickup truck was seen fleeing the scene heading northbound on the 71 Freeway. It is unclear whether the pickup truck continued on the freeway or exited. Pomona police officers were on the scene and handling the investigation into the incident.
