This is the dramatic moment firefighters rescued a mother and her daughter after their house partially collapsed in Indonesia.

The second floor of the residence caved in on Wednesday, leaving the pair stranded in Surabaya, East Java.

Footage shows emergency crews carefully navigating the rubble while assisting the pair on a ladder to safety.

Laksita Rini, head of the Surabaya City Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP), said officers received the call at around 7 pm local time.

Rini added: 'The room that was evacuated was on the second floor. The concrete deck had collapsed.'

Authorities reported that the bedroom on the second floor had fallen onto the kitchen below, with part of the dividing wall also giving way.

At least one person was injured during the collapse.

Rini said: 'The injured victim is Nanang Tunggal, 51. He fell from the second floor and suffered injuries to his hands and forehead.'

Nanang received immediate treatment from rescue officers. The two people trapped were Nanang's wife, Safitri, 51, and their 10-year-old child. Both were rescued safely after around 90 minutes.

Officials are investigating the cause of the collapse. Partial building failures like this are often linked to structural weaknesses or natural wear over time.
