Huge waves crash on port during severe weather in Turkey
This is the shocking moment huge waves battered a port in Turkey during severe weather.
Footage captured by Caglar Reis shows towering waves crashing through the docks in Istanbul on Thursday.
Several boats were overturned as the turbulent waters surged across the quays.
Caglar said: 'Yes, friends, today a disaster struck. As the people of Narli, we did everything we could, but there was severe damage. Dozens of boats were submerged. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.'
Meteorological records showed winds reaching 62 mph, reaching level 11 on the Beaufort scale - classed as a violent storm just below hurricane strength.
All ferry services across Istanbul were suspended while authorities monitored the situation.
