Landslide crashes onto mountain road blocking motorists in southwest China
This is the dramatic moment a landslide crashed onto a mountain road, blocking motorists in southwest China.
Dashcam footage shows the terrifying moment boulders and debris cascaded onto the 248 National Highway in Ganzi, Sichuan, causing a total road blockade.
Thick dust billowed into the air as soil and rock slammed across the asphalt on January 3.
No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
Local media said that authorities worked quickly to clear the debris, and the road was successfully reopened to traffic just hours after the disaster.
Landslides typically occur when slopes become unstable due to factors such as heavy rainfall, seismic activity, or human interference, causing soil and rock to slide rapidly downhill under the force of gravity.
