An agricultural drone battery burst into flames inside a pickup truck.

A freelance UAV pilot was left in shock after discovering that the interior of his white pickup had been scorched by the drone battery that exploded while he was away in Loei province, Thailand.

Footage shows the aftermath of the blaze, with the passenger seats completely charred, leather upholstery melted, and thick black soot coating the windows on January 4.

The drone enthusiast recalled that he had left his equipment inside the truck as part of his daily routine. When he returned, he was met with the sight of flames engulfing the cabin.

The owner and his friends acted quickly to extinguish the fire.

He said: 'I was so confused because the battery was not in use at the time. I had stored it properly, and it was brand new. I hadn't even used it yet.'

No one was injured in the incident.
