South Africans picket at US Consulate in support of Venezuela, Iran and Palestine
Cape Town, South Africa - 22 January 2026: Supporters of various organisations including the African National Congress (ANC), COSATU, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) and others picketed at the US Consulate in Cape Town. The various organisations gathered to show solidarity with the people of Venezuela, Iran and Palestine.
Supporters called for the United States to release captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and also demanded that South Africa declared newly appointed US ambassador to South Africa, Brent Bozell persona non grata.
