Los Angeles, United States - January 22, 2026 01/21/2026 10:40 pm GMT-0800 CHINO, Calif. – A Chino police officer was involved in a possible shooting during a traffic stop on Central Avenue, just north of Riverside Drive. A nearby neighbor, who did not want to be identified, reported that he and his wife heard gunshots and saw one person being transported from the scene. It is currently unclear if the officer was also transported or checked out and cleared at the scene. The circumstances leading up to the officer-involved shooting are still under investigation. Chino police officers closed both northbound and southbound lanes of Central Avenue as part of their inquiry into the incident. No additional details have been released at this time. UPDATE: The suspect was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
