USA: LAPD Officer Involved in Crash

07/31/2024 12:46 am (GMT-0700) | SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES – The LAFD was dispatched for a traffic collision in the 4400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard. LAPD put out a call for an officer-involved crash. Officers responded to the location where three vehicles were found curbside with collision damage. One victim was transported who was inside an unmarked police unit, and the individual who crashed into the unit was assessed by LAFD and checked for DUI by an LAPD officer at the scene. The LAPD unmarked unit appeared to be parked at the time of the crash. There was no immediate information regarding the condition of the LAPD officer involved in the incident.
Update:
An off-duty LAPD officer was involved in the crash. One person was taken into custody for suspected DUI according to an LAPD Valley Traffic officer.
