US, Los Angeles: Agua Dulce 1 Killed In Wrong Way Crash

Los Angeles, United States - January 07, 2026 01/06/2026 06:20 pm GMT-0800 AGUA DULCE, Calif. – At least one person was killed in a wrong-way crash after a vehicle attempted to overtake a lane traveling the wrong way on a canyon road north of Santa Clarita. The crash was first reported at 6:20 p.m. in the 8500 block of Sierra Highway, south of Anthony Road, when a 911 caller stated two vehicles had collided and at least two people were trapped inside the wreckage. Firefighters from nearby Fire Station 81 responded to the scene and helped free one trapped motorist who was subsequently rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition. The driver of a sedan was killed in the wreck. Investigators believe his vehicle may have been traveling the wrong way on Sierra Highway before colliding with a Toyota RAV4 SUV. The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol's Newhall office. Sierra Highway, a main route between Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley, remains shut down as of 8:50 p.m.
