L'Alqueria de la Comtessa, Spain - January 27, 2026 A 48-year-old man has been arrested by the Guardia Civil for secretly installing video cameras in the bathrooms of his bar, spying on customers throughout the business day. Authorities have seized two hidden cameras and five hard drives storing over 5TB of footage. The investigation began after an anonymous tip was submitted via the Alertcops app, alerting officers to the presence of the hidden cameras. Once on site, Guardia Civil agents confirmed that the cameras had been recording around the clock and were connected to a computer storing the footage on multiple hard drives. The total number of victims remains unknown while authorities analyze the vast amount of material. The man has been charged with a continuing crime against personal privacy. Guards from the Puesto Principal de Oliva are continuing their investigation to examine all images and identify potential additional victims. The case has been submitted to the Juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción number 3 of Gandía.
