Residents evacuated as fire rips through building in Indiana
A fire ripped through a building in Indiana as panic-stricken residents were evacuated.
The blaze broke out inside a tyre shop at 3241 Lafayette Road on January 23, around 6:20 pm local time.
Multiple 911 calls alerted the Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency, prompting nearly 100 firefighters to respond.
Teams from the Indianapolis Fire Department, Pike Township Fire, Speedway Fire, and Wayne Township Fire battled the flames in brutal sub-zero conditions for more than four hours before bringing the fire under control.
Footage shows the inferno engulfing the building, with several parked vehicles nearby as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No serious injuries were reported.
