A bizarre video has emerged from China of police stopping a driver transporting 17 children to school in a small, motorized rickshaw in Guangxi Province on Thursday.

Following reports by concerned local residents, officers managed to catch up with the driver at a crossroads and counted the children out of the vehicle.

According to police reports the man, in his sixties, had purchased the rickshaw from a second-hand market to take his grandson to school.

He later obtained legal permission to start a business ferrying children to school but, on this day, exceeded the number of children allowed in the vehicle at one time.
