A girl swept away while drifting, grabbed a tree branch to survive raging river in southern China.

Video filmed in Chongqing on June 24 shows a young girl being swept downstream in a tumultuous river while floating.

The little girl managed to grab onto a tree branch and clamber onto a gigantic rock by the river's edge.

But the ordeal was far from over as her father, in a heroic attempt to rescue his daughter, was caught in the forceful current and swept downstream.

Miraculously, he managed to swim ashore, demonstrating the same survival instincts as his young child.

Kind-hearted individuals on the opposite bank came to the little girl's aid, ensuring her safe extraction from the river.
