A delivery man named Zhou Hai heroically saved a person from drowning while on his delivery route in southern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Meishan in Sichuan Province on November 29.

Upon hearing shouts for help near Laoquan Bridge, Zhou discovered a crowd gathered around a person struggling in the water. While others waited for emergency services, Zhou realizing the urgency of the situation, swiftly undressed and plunged into the water.

He then navigated to a life ring and then to the drowning individual, successfully handing over the ring and saving them.

After ensuring the victim was in the care of medical personnel, Zhou Hai immediately redressed and continued his delivery route, managing to deliver two orders on time.

According to reports, it was Zhou's first rescue, driven by his confidence in swimming, particularly in cold weather due to his fondness for winter swimming.

Despite the praise, he remains humble, stating that he acted without much thought, recognising the immediate need to save the struggling individual.

In recognition of his bravery, the delivery platform honoured Zhou Hai with the "Pioneer Rider" title, a reward of 50,000 yuan (£5,600), and a promotion to a reserve station manager position to support his career development.
