These kind-hearted pupils dug their teacher out of a hole - pushing his truck when it got stuck on a muddy hill.

The headteacher had left for the day and was driving back when his silver pick-up became stuck on a steep incline.

He tried to accelerate up the mountain but just sank further into the sludge.

Luckily, dozens of schoolkids were still around and rushed to his aid - tugging the vehicle with a rope and pushing it from behind.

Others climbed into the back to bounce the suspension along the hill which had turned into a quagmire after monsoon rains.

With Matchama, the headteacher, revving the engine, the youngsters eventually freed the car so it could carry on driving up the hill in Mae Hong Son, northern Thailand.

Matchama said: ‘’The students have learned good values. I’m proud of all of them. Every teacher must wish to have good pupils like this.

‘’They helped get the truck out of a mess. What school teacher could want more from pupils than this?

‘’It shows the power of team work when everybody works together.’'
