Moment migrants stick a ladder out of a moving lorry in a bid to escape
A stowaway migrant stuck a ladder out of a moving lorry to alert the driver, after the stowaway apparently realised he was heading away from England.
David Hurrell, 41, was driving between Calais and Dunkirk when he said he spotted a HGV with a man hanging out of the top-back corner of the awning.
He said the man was trying to attract the attention of the driver by banging on the side, but when he failed to alert him he grabbed a ladder from inside and stuck it out.
