I moved on medical grounds from private to social housing, because my private accommodation wasn’t no longer adequate for me because of my mobility due to Osteoarthritis and my other illnesses which includes asthma, migraines, depression and acid reflux. After moving in when I came second in the bid because the first viewer rejects the property because it was going through intensive repairs, replacements and redecorated, half the walls were missing and looked as if it would take weeks to be available. So I took the offer and here we are 5 years later in a property riddled in damp and black mould. My first bed I moved in with which I’ve had since 1999 had to be thrown out because black mould was growing on the bed and I had the wall looked at, but I was given a Tin of lacque to spray on any mould that I found and managed to clean away. Had someone decorated my bedroom twice since living here and now the damp and mould has come back again. Newham council really needs to get back to me regards to this issue as it’s causing more problems to mine and my children’s health.
