Escalator floor collapses just as man gets off the steps
A man narrowly escaped being swallowed by an escalator that suddenly collapsed at a supermarket in northern China.
The CCTV video, shot in Jinzhong City in Shanxi Province on January 24, shows a panel on an escalator floor suddenly collapsing behind a man after he just reaches the top of it and walks away.
Someone pressed the emergency button to stop the escalator immediately, then a security guard blocked the entrance of it with a warning line.
Fortunately, no one was injured and the escalator was closed for repairs.
