A heroic railway worker risked his life to drag a suicidal woman from the path of the train onto the platform just a second before the train arrived.

The terrifying video, shot in Cangzhou City in Hebei Province on January 26, shows a rail staff quickly jumping onto the track and pulling a woman managing to suicide onto the platform.

After they just get back onto the platform, a train drives past the place where the woman was lying before stopping.

Thanks to the heroic worker, the 29-year-old woman was rescued successfully.

The woman's family kneeled down to appreciate the worker's brave action and the China Railway Beijing Group awarded him 5000 Yuan (£572).
