Sea turtle with trapped flipper saved by conservation workers in Maldives
An Olive Ridley sea turtle was found entangled in a cement bag in the Maldives until it was rescued by a conservation team researching marine life in the area.
Video of the rescue, filmed in the Lhaviyani Atoll area on February 10, shows the turtle being rescued by the team and pulled onto their boat with the bag still attached to its flipper.
The animal was reportedly then freed and quickly released back into the ocean.
The filmer, researcher Martin Stelfox, commented: "This is a shocking reminder that humans are having a profound impact on our environment."
