Consistent efforts taken by the forest department staffs in saving Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings are highly appreciated by turtle lovers.

Location: Pitchavaram mangrove, Chidambaram area of Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu state in South India

Every year the olive ridley turtles reach the shores of Tamilnadu for nesting and laying eggs. Unfortunately there are more number of predators that reduces the multiplication of these turtles. Hence the forest department staffs collect these eggs take them to hatcheries and once the tiny turtles hatch from the eggs they are taken safely to the shores of the sea and left into the sea. These efforts of the forest staff in saving these turtles are highly appreciated by the animal activists and turtle lovers.
