MAYURBHANJ:ODISHA.....Water scarcity has hit Several areas of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. Temperature is increasing day by day. All over Odisha recent temperature have been recorded as more than 40 to 43 degree.

A village named "CHAMPAJHAR" under Thakurmunda block of Mayurbhanj district, the villagers are facing lots of problem due to unavailability of well, tube well and pure drinking water, and not only drinking water but also no road connectivity to their village. Absolutely cut off area from the main stream. Even the administration cannot reach there. Due to no road, ambulance cannot reach. There is no health center working properly. Anganwadi also not working in proper manner. Government is aware about the village for last 10 to 15 years but no action has been taken. This is the reality in the name of "Bikash", more than 800 villagers including children, old men and women are living in such a pitiable that one cannot believe without viewing in own eyes. So horrifying life they are bound to live. Miles to go even to bring this unhygienic water for their drinking and daily use purpose.

The water supply by the public health engineering department (PHED) is also highly erratic," Villagers have lodged complaints with the PHED office to improve the situation, but all in vain," "Due to the scarcity, they have to fetch buckets of water from other areas for drinking purpose. Tap water is only source for their drinking.
