Australian science teacher Jacob Strickling records himself using ASMR to demonstrate a fiery metal sodium experiment.

The video, filmed on July 26, shows Jacob slowly whispering information into a microphone.

Jacob has done a number of ASMR science videos with a number of them reaching over a million views on Facebook.

Australian Science Teacher Jacob Strickling performs science experiments with tiny equipment and loud sounds. In this video the metal sodium is first cut with a knife, demonstrating how soft it is. A small piece is then placed in water where it 'swims' around the surface which is why it has the latin name Natrium (swimmer) and hence symbol Na. The hydrogen gas produced in the reaction explodes with the heat produced. Finally some sodium is placed in a flame where it burns with a yellow flame. Jacob is the creator behind the popular YouTube channel 'Make Science Fun'
