Global Climate Strike: Hundreds of children protest against climate change in India
Students of a school in central India took to the streets to match steps with thousands of young people protesting against climate change all over the globe.
At least 100 students of Agrini Public School in Kurai area of Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district demonstrated against climate change on Sept. 22.
Several visuals showed the students raising slogans and walking in queues while holding placards.
The students also danced to a song dedicated to climate change and also spoke to people informing the masses about it.
Reports said the students were mobilised to protest against the matter by their teacher Gaurav Jaiswal.
Jaiswal said the students will take part in a week-long demonstration, informing locals about the impact of climate change.
Responding to calls by 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, thousands hit the streets demanding a better future.
Banners were seen in cities like Berlin, New York, Melbourne, London, Nairobi.
Reports said protestors chanted slogans like "You had a future, and so should we."
The teenage activist said, "Right now we are the ones who are making a difference. If no one else will take action, then we will."
