Difficult Landings & Takeoffs during Storm Brendan at Bristol Airport

Buy video

Storm Brendan hit the UK on Monday 13th January 2020, bringing with it heavy rain and a very strong wind. Bristol Airport was one of the many airports across the UK affected - here's 30 minutes of plane spotting action showing many challenging landings and takeoffs in a formidable crosswind.

The wind was blowing directly across the runway for the whole day. This video was shot between 11:15-13:30 with the wind getting progressively worse throughout the session, with gusts of 34 knots towards the end - too strong for the KLM which had to abort their landing as the wind was out of their limits!
