Thousands of people watched the KIO procession, which is a statue of the gods at the Cap Go Meh celebration in Padang, West Sumatra.

KIO Arak is a ritual to refuse reinforcements, so that every new year, the lives of ethnic residents are getting better. The festive atmosphere was also more lively, because all their relatives from overseas went to attend the procession.

Kio was paraded around Kampung Cina in the Pondok Padang area. About 12 people carried Kio accompanied by the shrill sound of jerks.

Pengarak Kio also looks scary at first glance. They are like possessed.

One of the leaders of the ethnic Chinese, Albert Indra Lukman said, the paraded was a king's tent or a place of statue of the Chinese god of belief. Inside there is a statue of a god sitting. The statue of the god is called a protective deity.

To appreciate the differences in Padang's predominantly Muslim religion, Kio's procession began after the Asr Prayer until before sunset. Back continued around 19:00 WIB until before the evening prayer.
