Commuters perform squats to be eligible for free tickets at a railway terminal in the Indian capital Delhi

Indian railways came up with innovative idea to keep its commuters fit.

It has installed a ticket vending machine that dispenses free platform tickets worth INR 10 to commuters if they can perform a fitness task.

The commuter has to do 30 sit ups in merely 3 minutes to be eligible for the free ticket or else he has to pay for the same.

The video shows one of the commuters performing squats numerous times before an actual ticket is dispensed in the end.

The Ticket Vending Machine (TVM)/ Squat machine is installed in the Anand VIhar Terminal of the Indian capital New Delhi.

This is a part of the initiative 'Fit India' Programme launched by the Indian primer Narendra Modi on August 2019.
