A bored aviation photographer who is missing this year's air shows because of coronavirus fixed a model aircraft to his ceiling.

Piotr Szydlo normally travels the world with his expensive long-lens photography equipment shooting planes.

However, most air shows across Europe have been cancelled and commercial flights grounded due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Piotr fixed a model P-51D Mustang to his ceiling with a piece of cable at his home in North London, UK. He then snapped the American WWII fighter plane as it whizzed round in circles on April 4.

Piotr called it the ''Corona Air Show 2020''.

He said: "I've been self-isolating for two weeks and since the air show season is ruined around the world, and I am an aviation photographer, I had to improvise."

British authorities announced a partial shut down last month and urged to stay inside their homes and follow strict social distancing measures to stop the spread of the pandemic.
