Marine Lover Makers Turtle Biscuits During Lockdown
A environmentalist baked cute leatherback turtle cookies to spread awareness about the conservation of marine animals.
In the video taken on April 7, Haley Newberg Hanson from Missoula, Montana, puts gray and green icing into the turtle-shaped cookies that she baked. She works for a sea turtle conservation organisation Pacuare Reserve based in Costa Rico.
Haley said: ''Thinking about the leatherbacks at Pacuare Reserve and the researchers who have chosen to shelter in place for the season.
"They are protecting nests each night because every egg matters! I wish I could deliver a batch of fresh cookies to them."
The Pacuare Beach in Costa Rica is one of the most important leatherback turtle nesting beaches in the world. It is also home to over 270 species of wildlife, including birds.
