Although calls online went out for mass protests to take place in several areas in Hong Kong (dubbed "Operation Pegasus"), later, the online LIHKG forum users cast doubts on such a call, saying it was a "trap" set up to get people arrested. Police deployed in all major sites, implementing an intensive mobilization program to face the protests. Earlier, a traditional protest planned by trade unions on May 1st has been banned by the Hong Kong police citing concerns over the coronavirus epidemic. However for several days in a row, Hong Kong has experienced no local contamination. Instead of the "operation Pegasus", some protesters organized some chanting of slogans at 5.01 pm, respecting the social distancing regulation by keeping groups to a maximum of 4.
