Thousands of blackbucks were seen claiming the human habitat amidst COVID-19 lockdown in the Ganjam district of Odisha, India.

The visuals shows the animals crossing the road in hundreds as a biker intercepts them and stops his bike to avoid any collision.

Due to no human interference for a while, the blackbucks have got an independence to roam around the village and the surrounding areas.

The forest department were informed of the preserved wildlife species who then deployed the wildlife protection squads in the area.

Sathyagaran Behura, Divisional forest officer Ganjam District, Odisha said; "The prestigious beauty of nature & rare species Blackbucks are found in our areas during this year the census of blackbucks were conducted & remarkably it is found to be increasing day by day & as currently the number of blackbucks is 4114 which includes 971 male bucks & 2509 female and young found is 634."
"We have 5 division out of 5 division in 3 division we found the blackbucks populations. That is Buguda, Aska and Konstara."
"The wildlife protection squads have been deployed at all the locations to protect the animals. The locals are also cooperating with forest department and they play an important role in increasing bucks populations."


Mr.Dass, secretaris people for Animals also added, "Because of the COVID-19 lockdown there is no human interference with wildlife forest so thousands of rare species blackbucks in Ganjam District Odissa are roaming in village surrounding areas."
