A heroic man caught a two-year-old boy falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in eastern China.

In the terrifying video, filmed in the city of Huai'an in Jiangsu Province on July 9, a toddler clinging on the fourth-floor aircon ledge suddenly fell down and a man standing under the building caught him.

According to reports, the naughty toddler locked his grandmother outside the flat and climbed out of the window.

A neighbour spotted the toddler and called the police for help.

The concerned neighbours put the duvets on a canopy under the building, to catch the boy in case he fell. A man named Li Dehai stood on a chair and stretched his hands out to be ready to catch the boy.

Thanks to Li's catch, the boy was not injured at all after being checked in hospital.

在警方提供的视频中，记者看到，一名男童抓着空调外机，在空中摇摇晃晃。很快，这名孩子因体力不支，突然坠下。楼上一名男子顺势用双手抓住这名孩子，把他紧紧地搂在怀里。

根据警方提供的联系方式，15日，记者联系上了视频里的这名男子——李德海。他告诉记者，这个孩子只有2岁半，住在盱眙县盱城街道某小区。“我们是一个小区的，孩子住在5楼。”经事后了解，当天这名男孩和外婆在家。调皮的孩子把外婆反锁在了门外。心急的外婆只好找来开锁工人开锁。

“小孩可能是踩着板凳爬上了窗户，因为没有防盗窗，孩子一下子翻到了窗外放置空调外机的平台上。”李德海说，这个时候，恰好被邻居董雪梅发现，于是她呼叫邻居前往营救。听到呼救声后，李德海在跑过去的路上，还特意拨打了110报警，并请求消防救援。

当时，小孩在上面紧张晃动空调外机，外机和小孩随时都可能坠落。邻居李洁梅迅速从家里抱出一床棉被，“和二楼一位60多岁的大哥、一位60多的孙阿姨、一位76岁的李老太，站在下面，四个人撑开被子以防孩子掉下来。”李德海回忆，由于孩子晃得太厉害，空调外机平台下方有个钢化玻璃雨棚，大家担心孩子摔到棚子上，于是就直接把被子铺在了棚子顶部，“担心一床被子太薄，李洁梅又从家里抱来一床，一起放在了棚子上。”

李德海则站在一个方凳上，伸出双手，准备随时接住小孩。一刹那，小孩从5楼坠落，李德海迅速调整姿势，接住了小孩，手臂撞击在钢化玻璃上后，脚下的凳子也歪倒了，李德海抱住小孩顺势落地，避免了小孩直接坠地。

“整个过程，我一直把孩子紧紧地搂在怀里。”李德海说，为防小孩受内伤，他又开车和邻居大哥陪同孩子家属赶到县医院检查。万幸的是，经全面检查后，小孩没有一点损伤。

15日，盱眙县见义勇为基金会办公室主任谢磊告诉记者，目前，盱眙警方正在为李德海申报见义勇为奖励。（视频由江苏台提供）
