India bolsters airspace with five new Rafales amid ongoing tension with China

India on Wednesday, June 29, acquired five rafale fighter jets from France.

The jets, accompanied by SU30 MKIs jets, entered Indian space and later touched down at the Ambala Airbase in northern India's Haryana.

Upon its arrival, the jets received water salute.

Visuals showed the newly purchased fighter jets forming an arrow formation and gliding across the blue skies.

The Office of Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, tweeted: "The five Rafales escorted by 02 SU30 MKIs as they enter the Indian air space @IAF_MCC."
